Dr. Shepherd obtained his BA from North Texas State University in 1986, followed by his BS from Texas A&M University in 1988. He then went on to receive his DVM from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After working in mixed practices in both Jacksonville and Temple, Texas, he purchased Roanoke Animal Hospital in 1996.

Although he enjoys all aspects of his practice, Dr. Shepherd particularly enjoys dentistry and laser surgery.

Dr. Shepherd was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma but moved to Texas "as fast as he could". He and his wife Paula now share their home in Keller with dogs Gretchen and Hallie.
