Sharing in the special bond between pets and their families.
Roanoke
Animal
Hospital
A few of our good friends...
Current Events
Our wonderful staff learns all about you and your pets when you
come visit us at the Hospital. We thought it would be nice for you
to learn a little about them as well. So we've created this new
page where you can see what our staff enjoys doing when not
taking care of your loved ones.
Dr. Shepherd & wife Paula, along with
the other Doctors at Roanoke Animal
Hospital, recently attended the Annual
Metroport Meals On Wheels Benefit held
at The Classic Café in Roanoke. The
annual event is held to raise funds to
provide meals to medically fragile and
chronically ill individuals in our area.

Ian Bird graduated from
Navy "A" school in
February. He is now a
Operations Specialist
Seaman Apprentice
(OSSA) with the United
States Navy, stationed in
San Diego, CA. Liz and
Randel are very proud
parents!
Dr. Sackman visited Miss Kimberly Graham's class at
Glenhope Elementary school for career day. They talked
about being a vet, number of years of education it takes to
become a vet, and all the cool jobs you can do as a vet.
Using her model, Dr. Malcolm, they did a physical exam
and all the students got to listen to his heart.
Thank you Cindy Miller (Counselor) for asking us to
participate.
Dr. Tracey Sackman once again
completed the Susan G. Komen 3-Day
Walk for the Cure. Her walking
partners for 2010 were Dr. Joanne
Franks (DVSC) and Dr. Dana Liska
(Animal Dermatology). Congratulations
Doctors and thank you for your
continued support of a wonderful
cause.
We recently celebrated the birth of Owen McAfee.
Christal's newest baby was welcomed with open arms to
the RAH family.

On May 2, 2011, Dr. Shepherd, along with 16 other Keller
residents, graduated from the Keller Citizens Police
Academy. This is a once weekly evening classroom
experience, over a 12 week period, designed to educate
citizens about how things work in their local police
department. Classroom subjects included; Jail, SWAT,
Dispatch, Search and Seizure, Self Defense, Firearms
Safety (with an opportunity to shoot automatic weapons on
the Police Academy firing range), among many
others.
Dr. Shepherd says, "This was a learning experience, well
worth the time and effort required, and I would encourage
anyone with any interest in law enforcement or public
safety to participate in similar programs your city might
offer."

The newest member of the Roanoke Animal Hospital
family was finally born on June 25, 2011 at 7:40 pm. Baby
Charles Dylan DuVall was 8 pounds, 15 ounces, 20" long
and very happy to great the world. Proud parents Shayne
and Chirs DuVall are bursting with joy.
Of course Baby Dylan's first outing was to visit everyone
at RAH. And what a cute little thing he is.
Jon and wife Lacie have also welcomed a new addition to
their family. Baby Zayden is the newest member of their
happy household. Baby Romeo is excited to have a baby
sister to play with.
Congratulations Jon and Lacie!
Hospital Administrator Liz Bird recently
cut 10" off her hair and donated it to
Locks of Love.

Stephanie thought she was safe
dressing as Mildred (our favorite
What-a-burger lady) but little did she
know she smelled so good the zombies
would track her down for their evening
snack! Click on the Stephanie to see
more photos from this years RAH
Halloween Party.
Roanoke Animal Hospital celebrated
Christmas with not 1 but 2 parties. Our
Secret Santa lunch was loaded with
wonderful gifts and our Annual
Christmas Party was the wildest one yet.
It's safe to say that everyone had a
wonderful time. Click on the Shepherd's
picture to see more photos.
Dr. David K. Shepherd was officially
sworn in to the Texas State Guard on
December 17, 2011. Congratulations
